F-14 Tomcat
Bought as a second hand kit in September 1998, it was test flown in early summer 1999 after a long winters building. It gained quite a following at the flying site with its rarely seen twin-fin and jet-like appearance. As a result of this popularity, it was no surprise when it was voted as the Guernsey Model Club Aeromodel of the year 1999. After many years of trying to win this trophy with different aircraft, he finally did it!

This has an MDS 68 up front, and is quite a quick plane to fly. It has a very different landing technique to most planes. You have to slow it right down, then it sits in a nose-up attitude, as if sitting on a cushion of air, due to the 'tunnel' under the fuselage. It then floats along happily until you touch down on the runway. Looks fantastic too!
