Sundowner 50

Mick has been kind enough to send some information relating to his latest aircraft, pictured below. I was fortunate enough to see the test flight just recently and can report that it was highly successful. The model looks as good in the air as it does on the ground, and Mick has made a fine job of putting it together. Here's a few words from the lucky owner ...

" Hi Colin, here's a few pics of my latest 'toy'. The aircraft is a Sundowner 50 made by Hangar 9 Models and spans 63 inches. It is powered by an Irvine 53 swinging an APC 10 x 9 prop. Model weight is just under 6lb and the radio gear is Futaba 2.4 Ghz running 3152 digital servos on all functions except for a '148' on throttle. "

Well as you can see from these pictures, it a fine looking model and certainly 'does what it says on the tin'.

Lovely bold colour scheme makes it very easy to keep a track of in the air

Has quite a distinct 'racer' appearance I think you'll agree

Looking very purposeful in this shot. Beautifully 'cowled in' motor installation and those spats really finish off the undercarriage quite nicely

There's no denying that this is a beautiful looking model, and I won't be surprised if we see a few more down the site this season having seen it's test flight. Thanks Mick for sharing your model with us.
