Mustang Pylon Racer
It takes a few seconds to get going, then its gone. This thing is so quick, it could beat a diamond dust in a straight fight...just. There wouldn't be much in it. All this performance from what basically amounts to not much more than a modified Mustang.

I remember the first few flights well. Especially the one when it disappeared!! Going into a flat out dive from a long way up, a cloud got in the way, completely obscuring everyone's view of this rocket. So, there she was flat out in a dive, behind a blanket of cloud, getting louder, and louder. All of a sudden it appeared again at about 45 degrees doing well in excess of 250mph. That was an absolute heart stopper. And to think, Nick still let me fly it after that.

The motor you can see is Nick's JettFire 50...the engine that is so powerful, it has 8 bolts holding the cylinder head on!

This is ballistic, but due to its shape is probably easier to fly than the diamond dust, because it looks like a plane, not a 2 foot triangle with a 9 inch disc doing 25000 rpm on the front!
These days it has a proper Pylon Racing Motor, an IR. With this motor, it has got to be fastest model plane I have ever flown! When we took it to Jersey in 2003, the guys there thought it was so quick, they gave it it's own display slot, as to have it up at the same time as 2 or 3 Magnums would be suicidal. Were they impressed? you bet they were!
