INDOOR FLYING 2008 - 4th session - 19/03/08
Once again quite a good turn out of members and beside the now usual mix of Kyosho Cessnas, Picco Z's, Shockies etc, were an ever increasing number of Chinooks and other RTF helis. Its always interesting to see how differently the seemingly identical models actually are when it comes to performance and stability. The Chinooks in particular show great potential for a little bit of 'tweaking' here and there to make them more responsive for the more advanced pilot. Straight out of the box though, they are a superb bit of kit and show just how far the electric revolution has come in the past 12 months. Anyway, less words, more pictures of the models .....
Ian Barker and Mick Bewey's Chinooks really do look great in flight, and are very stable in the hover and in the circuit.

Here they are joined by Dave Vivyan's to make up a trio flying in formation on a new 'sortie'. Dave has tweaked his machine slightly to get more movement on some of the controls, which enables him to throw his around a little more. Rolling takeoffs and some very tight circuits are now easily achieved, which just goes to show the versatility of these machines.
Nicely finished and well flown Bell 47 from a new 'face' at our sessions - Lucas Harrisson. Lucas hope to join the club soon and we certainly welcome him. His obvious flying skills have already been demonstrated as he was very confident when throwing this little chopper around the hall.

Andy Best brought along a new heli - a Jet Ranger (new body on existing mechanics I think) and again, this flew very well under Andy's guidance. Quite a nice looking modern craft and sure to catch on.

I wasn't able to find out who owned this 'Apache', but again I think it was a new body on existing mechanics. Very aggressive looking heli which was very stable and certainly looked the part when approaching at speed.
