Cougar 2000

A Cougar 2000, and I used to think they were no better than the Limbo Dancer. Hmm. Well, I only bought this because my Limbo Dancer got trashed in Jersey...by a Cougar's prop. But I'm glad I did for 2 reasons. Firstly, I didn't have to rush fixing the Limbo Dancer, and secondly, this is fantastic!!! With the Magnum 46 and throttle pipe from my Limbo Dancer, it is the biggest-engined cougar I have yet seen or flown. Prop hangs no problem on 1/3rd throttle, endless vertical performance, with plenty of power to get you out of trouble (not that you should ever get into trouble with a Cougar, the friendliest funfly going, but it has been known, eh Thomas?). As you can see, I have modified it too. Nothing too increase performance, I just wanted it to look different, so I put a red stripe around the fuselage.

Weston UK are now selling the Cougar as an electric package, with a super electric motor, speed controller etc, and is just as capable in the air as a normal IC powered version. It has so much power  that it will prop hang easily for ages. for The downside is its a little bit pricy, near the £300 mark!! I'll think I'll stick to Cool Power!

Below, a series of photo's showing the Cougar 2000 doing what it does best.  Prop-hanging!

Thomas doesn't mind it buzzing around low, while he's flying.  He trusts me (I think), and he was trying the same thing with his Funtana over the bushes.  Hang's easiest in a gentle breeze, but flat calm is much more fun.  Constant touch & go's on the elevator are so easy, even though things such as tail-touching are a very contentious issue among 3D groups around the world. But we shan't dwell on that.  Go buy a Cougar 2000 and have some fun!!
