Cargo

This has to be one of the most interesting planes I have seen for quite a while, and the first 4 engined plane I think I have ever seen. It is a called a Cargo, built out of foam and made by Multiplex, the same manufacturer of the Pico Jet / Twin Jet among others. It flies very well, but not overly fast, especially when loaded with sweeties. Being electric you would expect it to be quiet...but it isn't. The motors and props are quiet, but the reduction gearing from the motors to the props sounds like a bag of nails. A very big bag of nails. It has been a favourite at our public displays, particularly with the kids, but unfortunately took a bit of a nose dive and gained some damage at our 2002 Family Fun Day. It has since appeared again for the 2003 Fun Day, and did two 'bombing runs', one of which was a direct hit, however the first load was dropped just north of the target into the gorse.

On the whole, a very slow flying, stable model which should generate plenty of interest at any flying site.
