Fury Extreme

Andy has had this Fury Extreme for a little while now. It originally had a Standard OS91 heli engine and a Zimmerman exhaust. It now has an OS91 'C' spec engine and a Curtis Youngblood Muscle Pipe 2, running 710mm MAH Blades. To say it flies well is an understatement. It howls around the sky, and the extra power over a 60 size heli is overwhelming. From the moment you push the collective forward, its a roller coaster ride to the end of the flight.

I've had a fair few goes on this thing, and I've never managed to make the engine load up. Not during flips, pitch-pumping, or even the Wall-of-Death. It is relentless. The one problem with it is that because it has so much power, you can go from lazy circuits fairly low, and before you know it it is a dot way up in the sky. This is one helicopter where you really have to try and keep it in view all the time.

As for manoeuvrability, flips and rolls are fast, accurate, with absolutely no hesitation whatsoever. Andy is also using top of the rang radio as well. Transmitter is a JR PCM 10X, the Gyro is (I think) a JR 6000 (I'm a Futaba flyer, so am not 100% up to speed on JR numbers), and Digital Servo's on the tail, and on the 120 degree CCPM swashplate system. I dread to think how much this helicopter must be worth!!

So, how does it compare to my Fury 60 Expert. Well, it has much more power, which when put into aggressive aerobatics really does make a difference, even though you still have to really push the 60 hard to make it load up at all. The 90 is a also a little quieter due to the lower revving engine 90 size engine. Much of the helicopter itself is the same, the only big differences are the gearing (60 size is 9.3 to 1, the 80 is 8.45 to 1, and the 90 is 8.18 to 1), the length of the tail boom (the 90 has an extra inch or 2), and a couple of other minor things add up to make this one of the best 3D helicopters money can buy.
