T-Rex 600 Nitro Pro
Here's a few words about Dave's latest rotary 'bling', his T-Rex 600 Nitro Pro helicopter.
"Very similar to that of my Dad's, but with a few extras from how his started out. This beast is powered by a YS 50 engine and Muscle Pipe V, which produces huge amounts of power. Cyclic control is from 3 - 9KG torque Futaba digital servos, with a Futaba Gyro and digital servo controlling the tail. I'm flying it using Spektrum radio, so the installation in the nose is very neat, with no dangly aerial hanging down the side, and all of the electrics are being powered by a 2s2p 1600mah Flightpower Lithium battery and Align regulator, which keeps the voltage down to 5.1 volts all round. With an all up weight around a pound lighter than a Raptor 30, this is one awesome machine which flies more like a 90 than a 50. I've only had about a dozen or so flights with it so far, but it is proving itself to be up there with the best, flying as well as machines that cost much more. It flies very smoothly, yet is very lively when you want it to be, and is an excellent 3D machine, thanks to the high-power low-weight design."
As you can see from the photos below, this is one very nice looking machine and as Dave says, it flies very well... mind you, he is a very accomplished pilot.
