Past news ....
25th September - Club's 40th Anniversary project update..... WE DID IT FOLKS !!!!
The first ever flight of a radio controlled aircraft from Guernsey to Herm and back has taken place. The weather was superb and the flight itself went like clockwork; all the testing and flight trials paid dividends as the aircraft and motor performed faultlessly.
Huge thanks go to all the club members who were involved with the project (for full list follow link below), Sussex Model Centre who supplied the aircraft and motor at a generously discounted price, Dowding Signs who kindly provided (for free) the personalised registration markings, the Guernsey authorities and Herm Island Administration without who's co-operation and support the flight could not have happened and lastly the many members of the public who have made generous donations toward the 3 charities we are supporting with this project.
Here's a link to the page detailing this historic event...
Guernsey to Herm and back - 40th Anniversary Project flight
West Show 2011 and JMAC Battle of Britain display pictures are now on the site, check out the relevant pages below.
also... Congratulations to Dave Wilkinson for his very creditable 3rd place in the Channel Island Aerobatic Competition. The flying standards were excellent and Dave put in some very accurate flights, the actual points separating the second and third placings were very few, so well done to Dave.
Our island, and more specifically our club flying site recently played host to the filming of a programme for the current season of this very popular Channel 5 show. For a few shots of what went on at the flying site whilst the episode was being filmed see 'Flightline' page below.
Here a couple of new supplier links which might be of interest

I have been putting together an article hopefully illustrating how what might at first glance seem to be irretrievable wreckage following an 'arrival', be rescued and rebuilt. You can see what I mean by checking out the page below entitled.... "All is not lost" If you have stories / pictures to share with folks about rebuilds, then I'd like to hear from you.
IMPORTANT Reminder !!!!
IMPORTANT notice to all flyers using the Chouet site - there is to be NO overflying of the Green Waste quarry during its opening hours .
Lastly... if you are test flying a new model, or one that has been repaired, it might be wise to ask fellow pilots not to fly whilst you are carrying out the first flight, as it will obviously reduce the stress factor in case you have a lot of 'in flight trimming' to do, and will allow you to concentrate on your model without having to worry if there is another model in your airspace.
*** A new page on the web site***,
for various shots of models, modellers etc etc ***
If you have any pictures of new models, or items for sale, just drop me an email - colinrou@tinyworld.co.uk or call me and I'll put them up on the site.
09/02/2006. An aircraft for Reflex XTR from John Ogier. He has modelled one of his Canard Designs for the simulator, and after having flown it himself, Dave W says that it is one of the most realistic simulator planes he's ever used. Download it here.
Chouet Scenery for Reflex XTR...Download the original file here. 28/09/2005. New version is ready. Looks just like flying down at the site! If you want a copy, let Dave W know, as it's quite a large folder. There is a night-flying heli download on another site, and he's also modified Chouet for night flying too!! Again, if you want a copy let Dave know.
